Downtown Scottsdale

The master plan for Downtown Scottsdale, the location of the ex-Saguaro Hotel between Indian School Rd. and Civic Center park, consists of a built-up area of over 950.000 sq. ft on two plots with a total of 230.000 sq. ft of surface area, connected by a pedestrian bridge over Drinkwater Blvd. The master plan is conceived with a grand public plaza at its center, bringing together two interweaving pedestrian footpaths—the Old Town Trail and the Scottsdale Trail—creating a Blue Zone at the heart of Scottsdale. These two Trails winding through the master plan—inspired by the old western trails across Arizona that unified the country—are designed to be lined with large public sculptures commissioned by the developer and donated to the City of Scottsdale, creating an unmissable attraction for tourists and residents alike.

With some 530.000 sq. ft of residential construction, the aim of the project is to create a whole new neighborhood, including an additional 100.000 sq. ft hotel, 31.000 sq. ft of retail, and approx. 47.000 sq. ft of office space. The master plan also boasts the Civic Center Theater and Museum of the Southwest, two artistic poles anchoring the project in culture and public entertainment.
