Paragon Lamp for Artemide

The Paragon table lamp offers a broad variety of movements made possible by four bendable and rotating segments. In designing the piece for the famous lamp manufacturer Artemide, the Libeskinds took cues from architectural tradition, conceiving a lamp which draws its formal elements from those of a skyscraper. The first segment performs a 360-degree rotation on a vertical axis, while the other three parts perform a 0 to 90-degree rotation on the horizontal axis. The joints direct light to the top of the unit and from there across space with great flexibility. Each one is made from an anodized aluminum body, with a steel base covered with a thermoplastic finish, and is illuminated by LEDs which are recessed into the head, ensuring a 90% yield without glare.
