GEOMETRIC FRAGMENT, BOLOGNA

An installation for 2014’s Bologna Water Design fair, Geometric Fragment, was born as a contemplative enigma in a dedicated space at the very heart of the fair.  Produced in collaboration with the design company Antrax, the black metal shard of a sphere both reflects and absorbs light, a sculpture speaking reflectively to the evolving nature of modern architecture.

The complex relationship between the context and the installation offers a reflection on the transformation of architecture through history, from the Baroque to the contemporary and beyond. The result is a sculptural meditation on art, architecture, and design.

The project was realized collaboratively with Lev Libeskind, Daniel Libeskind, and their respective studios.
